TO AVOID WAKE UP BY JUMPING FROM SLEEP (Tiflisi Interpretation)

Mekarimu'l-Ahlak; "Whenever you wake up, say ten times:

أعُوذُ بِكَلِماتِ اللهِ مِنْ غًضَبِهِ وَ مِنْ عِقابِهِ This is a good thing. يَحْضُرُونَ

E'uzu bikelimâtillâhi min ğazabih ve min iqâbih ve min şerri ibâdih ve min hemezâtiş Şeyâtîn ve en yehzurûn.

I seek refuge in Allah from the wrath of Allah, His punishment, the evil of His servants, the whispers of the devils and their presence with me."

In Tıbbu'l-Eimme, it is narrated from Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.), who in turn narrated from Imam Ali (a.s.): "Read these two verses to soothe children who cry a lot, to comfort those who wake up with fear and jumping, and to help women who cannot sleep due to pain to sleep:

) عَدَداً (11) ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَاهُمْ لِنَعْلَمَ أَيُّ الْحِزْبَيْنِ أَحْصَى لِمَا لَبِثُوا أَمَداً(

Fezarabnâ alâ âzanihim fil kehfi sinîne adedâ, summe be'asnâhum lina'leme eyyul hizbeyni ahsâ limâ lebisû emedâ.

"We put them into a sleep, they did not hear anything for years. Then we woke them up again so that we could know which of the two sides would calculate and distinguish how long they had stayed in bed."[44]

Similarly, it is written in Mekarimu'l-Ahlak: "When you jump in fear, read these verses:

Âl-i İmran, 18:

)شَهِدَ اللّهُ أَنَّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ وَالْمَلاَئِكَةُ وَأُوْلُواْ الْعِلْمِ قَآئِمَاً بِالْقِسْطِ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ(

Şehidallâhu ennehu lâ ilâhe illa hû, velmelâiketu ve ululilmi qâimen bilqist, lâ ilâhe illa huvel azîzul hakîm.

"Allah is a witness that there is no god other than Him. The angels and those with knowledge knew and declared this with complete accuracy. There is no god other than the one who has judgment and wisdom."[45]

Ayetel Kürsi:
