Seeing a jinn is interpreted as a deceitful person for worldly affairs and pride.
The exception is that the jinn seen is a physician, a benevolent person, a scholar and a preacher. If he sees the genie standing near his door, that person will be harmed, or it is interpreted that he has a vow (votive) that he needs to make, or that he will suffer from hardship and humiliation.
